02. IC INFORMATION
Name: Shiki Misaki
Series: The World Ends With You
Universe: AU
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Powers & Abilities: N/A
Point of canon to be drawn from: N/A

Personality: Shiki is, well... She's Shiki.

Confident, assertive, and positive. Shiki always tries to help others with the best of her ability, and she's not afraid to speak her mind, or go out there and do things when they need to be done. If there isn't enough information, she won't just sit there, twiddling her thumbs and waiting around for more information; she'll go out there and roll with what she's got, even if it means that she'll probably get her ass handed back to her. Yeah.

To people who don't know her very well, Shiki may appear pretty shallow, especially considering the fact that, while she's not completely obsessive over it, fashion and design is a big thing for her. She's meticulous over the little details, and when something is missing or just off (like, say, "that button right there is a little loose" off), she will find a way to find it, even if she has to be outrageous and tell the other person to take their pants off in the middle of the street, just to fix it.

She's not exactly the most tactful of people, either; she's blunt and when she needs to say something, she doesn't care how harsh it is, she'll say it. Shiki is the kind of person who will say and do outrageous things that will make people cock an eyebrow, but once they get used to it, Shiki's a pretty nice person to have around as a friend. Shiki isn't a bitch, she's just honest.

All in all, you could say Shiki is pretty confident about herself.

Too bad it's just a rouse.

Inside, Shiki feels inferior to others. She feels as if she's not pretty enough, or smart enough, or just merely good enough for anything, and that everyone else is better than her in one way or another. She's a little dependent on her friends, and at the same time, she's jealous of them, because to her, they'll always be better than her.

Still, even below all that, Shiki is self-confident and values herself immensely. Being herself is very important to her, and while she believes that she wants to be somebody else, she really doesn't. She likes being herself, regardless of how she thinks she feels.

Appearance: Shiki is fashionable and trendy. She has dark brown eyes, and shoulder length dark, pink hair, which she usually accessories with things such as over-sized hats and pins. Minus for her school uniform, Shiki is rarely seem using the same outfit twice, and when she does, she finds a way to make it look creative. Shiki is always seen wearing her favorite necklace (which is, basically, just an oddly shaped cross on a simple black string), along with her favorite pin; a simple black background with a white skull over it.

History: Born and raised in Oeste, Shiki's life was, and is, well, terribly boring. Besides the fact that both her parents are rarely at home (both of them are always off doing business; something about paying off a few debts, but Shiki doesn't like to pry and she doesn't really want to), her life is relatively normal. She goes to a normal school, has normal friends, normal teachers, normal grades, and a normal life. She had a normal childhood, and she lives in a normal house, in a normal neighborhood inside a normal city.

She also has a twin sister who she doesn't know about.

Whoops.

Now, this isn't a case of adoption, or even a case of having been switched at birth. No, no, no. Shiki's parents are her real parents, and the fact that she doesn't know about this interesting little piece of information is all intentional. It all started when her parents told one small, insignificant lie. That lie, of course, was quickly blown completely out of proportion, and, oh, her parents were all but too quick to claim credit for "discovering" such information.

Within a week's time, that small, insignificant lie had become quite the scandal, and Shiki's parents, of course, had become quite the celebrities; quite the drastic change from their quiet, sheltered lives in Sur, but the couple had no objections. It got them places, after all, such as not being dirty poor any more.

The lie becomes bigger and bigger, and, when they finally decide to just settle down and have children, satisfied with what they have gained from the whole ordeal, the people affected by that lie show up. With no other choice, they make a deal.

They give them the first born child, and they'll take care of them. They would raise them in the best conditions and teach them to work for them, and Shiki's parents found no reason to object; it was either that or something worse, after all. They relocated them to Este, where they would live perfect normal lives and never speak another word about this. A public apology would be made, and the lie would just fade away.

Shiki must never know of this, however, or else bad things would happen, and her parents certainly didn't want that for her. As long as Shiki never found out about that one little, insignificant lie, everything will be alright, and she and her family will be able to continue living their perfectly normal lives.

03. SAMPLES
Third Person: If there was one thing Shiki hated more than badly coordinated outfits and loose buttons, it was being bored.

Shiki wasn't quite sure when she had started to feel like this, but she supposed it began somewhere around the time she started to stare out the window, drawing circles on the table as her hand bag rested on her lap. She was supposed to have met up with one of her friends at Moonrocks today, but they had called in, something about being grounded, so now, here she was, alone and bored in a cafe packed with people.

Taking her PORTable out of her hand bag, Shiki flipped it open before looking at the time. It was 3:48PM on a Sunday.

Why was she still here?

Sighing, Shiki called a nearby waitress. Might as well do something before part of her shriveled up and died from boredom.

Journal Post: [ VOICE POST ]

[ STATIC. CUE THE SOUND OF BUTTONS, ALONG WITH A SOMEWHAT ANNOYED AND DISTRESSED SHIKI. ]

Ugh... Way to go Shiki, figures that you would drop your new PORTable into the sink as soon as--

...Wait. There's a light. Is this thing on?

[ THERE ARE SOME TAPPING SOUNDS, AND THEN A LONG PAUSE. ]

It's... Recording.

[ END VOICE POST ]

Questions, Comments, or Concerns?: U-Um, Shiki's twin sister is meant to be Eri, who will be joining us soon, hopefully. I've already discussed this with the person who has her reserved, so I hope this is alright. ♥;;;
